Dear friends and family,
I believe in the excellent programs of Christian Encounter Ministries and the work they are doing with young people aged 16 to 21—that’s why I am participating in this 24-hour Agony Ride. Please join me in raising funds to help this ministry.
I plan to ride my bicycle as far as I can in 24 hours from 1:00 PM Friday, July 25,2025 until 1:00 PM Saturday, July 26 2025. The money raised will help young people who are enrolled in the residential discipleship and counseling program at Christian Encounter Ranch in Grass Valley, California, where they receive education, counseling, Bible study, and discipling, as well as training in life-skills. The Ranch has been helping kids since 1970 without receiving government funding.
Please be my partner and support this worthy cause with a per-mile or flat pledge. Maybe we can’t change the whole world, but together we can help some kids start over. All the money raised goes to this program, not just a small percentage. I provide my own equipment and transportation. Even though my weary body and sore muscles are not tax-deductible, your contribution is.
The ride is at 5,000 feet of elevation in the Sierra Valley, north of Lake Tahoe. It is always possible to have extreme temperatures, high winds, and inclement weather. I don’t know how far I will ride this year. I had always had a goal of 300 miles and I rode 304 miles last year. My goal this year is to really depends on how my feet will let me do. I am hoping for 250 miles. . I f you have any questions or want more information please feel free to call me at (209) 679-7537.

Even hope may seem but futile, When with troubles you’re beset, But remember you are facing Just what other men have met. You may fail, but fall still fighting; Don’t give up, whate’er you do; Eyes front, head high to the finish. See it through!
Thank you so much for doing this. The number of lives that you've changed with this single annual act is incredible. I'm proud to call you my friend. And I know that this is hard, but what a great sacrifice you're making for these campers. May the Lord give you peace and strength through the entire ride, and the rest needed afterwards. Love you brother Kristie Golden
