Hello, and thanks for visiting my sponsorship page.

I am excited to be riding again in the Agony Ride 2026. This is my fifth-year riding. The ride is the single biggest fundraiser for Christian Encounter Ministries. The event takes place in the Sierra Valley above Truckee, CA. Many people, from riders to support personnel, come together with an incredible effort and focus. It is an uplifting and powerful event full of love, kindness, and encouragement.

Christian Encounter Ministries helps kids who are in big trouble. Some have been abused, abandoned, or have gotten caught up in drugs and alcohol. They may be experiencing mental illness and depression. Most of us have seen or know someone personally who has struggled with some of these problems. The bottom line is that they need help from a group of people who are all in.

We all want better communities and healthier lives for young people. Join me in putting love into action. Let’s help some kids.

When you sponsor me as a rider in the Agony Ride, we both have skin in the game. If you believe in the power of Jesus to save, then we will also be adding to our own eternal reward — a reward that moth and rust cannot corrupt.
In last year’s ride, My goal was 375 milesI did not meet my mileage goal. I rode 336 miles.

Funny enough, at the Loyalton rest stop, I had the support crew send forward my form-fitting sandals with the intention of me calling it quits at the next stop. I knew I would not make my goal at that point.

However, when I pulled into Vinton, I had an hour left to ride. Upon arriving at the rest stop and seeing the empty massage table, I thought about how much my feet would like a rest, and I gave in. Had i even rode at a very slow pace I would have hit 350 miles.

I felt like I gave it my all. At the time I stopped, there was only one other rider who had ridden more miles than me. Not that it matters… but if you are competitive, it does matter.

I can truly say that I was fully exerted and exhausted and had nothing more to give. Despite that physical reality, my spirit was very high, and a feeling of blessing swept over me.

I had been focusing on a few things to get me through:

Do not stop for more than 10 minutes once the event starts.
Stay dry, or if I get rained on, change into dry clothes and keep riding.
Keep my form front and center. If you get sloppy in your form, all kinds of pain can start developing.
Pray whenever you feel weak.
I also had an incredible feeling of gratitude throughout the entire ride, smiling and waving at all the other riders with the goal of encouraging them.

I also remember catching up with my nephew Gabe and his friend around 1:00 a.m. These youngsters were giving it their all, and we blazed out a few laps together. It was exciting and energizing riding with them. They propelled me forward, and the three of us watched the sunrise on one of our laps.

This year, I am attempting to ride 350 miles.

You may remember that I had a new bike for the ride last year. The funny thing is, I did not ride it. I did not have time to adjust the bike to my body and train on it. I will likely ride the same old bike that I am used to.

This year is very different because I have not been training the same amount. I also had a biking accident in September of last year where I fell down a cliff about 10 feet while riding the new bike. I had to be extracted by a rescue team.

Then, in December, I herniated an L4/L5 disc in my lower back.

In the past, my spirit was willing, but my body was wrecked by saddle sores and extreme pain in my feet. Last year was very different in that I was able to manage pain and discomfort in a much better way.
I am hoping that GOD provides the same level of protection this year despite my lack of training, accidents, and overall health challenges.

I do not know if I can do it.

It will be difficult.

Love is a purposeful commitment to sacrificial action for another. Love involves action. It has nothing to do with you. It is not about you.
